    Integrated Pest Management Notification

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a systematic approach to managing pests focusing on long-term prevention or suppression with minimal impact on human health, the environment, and non-target organisms.  The District's strategies for managing pest populations, should they develop, will be based upon the pest species and whether that species poses a threat to our students, staff, property, or the environment.

The District’s updated IPM program was implemented in 2021. All applications are performed by a licensed applicator, contracted by the school district.  The program goal is to use minimal amounts of pesticide to control the pest population in and around our schools (331,550 square feet of building space and 61.78 acres of grounds).

The District’s IPM program protects individuals from an imminent threat from stinging and biting insects including venomous spiders, bees, wasps, and hornets. In the event of emergency treatment, notification will be made as soon as practicable.

If you wish to receive a 48-hour prior notification of a pesticide application, please contact your school office to have your name placed on a list for this purpose.  If you have any questions regarding the district's IPM program, please call Mr. Goodrow, the Integrated Pest Management Coordinator, at 716-897-7800 extension 1191.
