When to Keep Your Child Home

  • Deciding if your child is too sick to go to school can be a difficult decision.  The following guidelines can help:

    • Fever greater than 100.0° orally and must be fever free for 24 hours, without the help of Tylenol or Ibuprofen, before returning to school
    • Vomiting and/or diarrhea within the last 24 hours
    • Severe sore throat along with fever and feeling ill for more than 48 hours, or after exposure to Strep throat infection
    • Cough that is deep and nagging or is disruptive to the class
    • Red, runny, crusty eyes
    • Large amounts of mucous from the nose with face pain or headache
    • Severe ear pain or drainage from the ear
    • Severe headache, especially with fever

  • Please notify the Health Office or Main Office if your child will be absent or tardy.
