Head Lice: What Parents Need to Know

  • Head lice are a common problem, especially among school-aged children and their families. Lice can attach to the hair of anyone's head whether the hair is clean or dirty - they often infect people with good hygiene and grooming habits.  

    Though head lice may be a nuisance, they don't cause serious illness or carry any diseases. It is a good idea to check your child’s head, nape of the neck and behind the ears for signs of nits (lice eggs) routinely.
