    National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (Katherine Pratt Horton Buffalo Chapter and Williams Mills Chapter)

    All students in the senior class are eligible (male or female), from those who apply faculty members pick 1 senior who exemplifies dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their community. The first place prize at the local level will be $50.

    Personal Questions, essay, transcript, and two letters of recommendation required.

    The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc.

    Open to seniors who demonstrate financial need, are involved in extracurricular activities and community service, have displayed integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and have a minimum GPA of 2.0.

    Leadership in Service Scholarship: University of Dayton

    Open to seniors looking to attend the University of Dayton, and have met the admissions requirements for the school. This student is one who is one who has an innate desire to serve other along with learn and grow from the experiences.

    2018 Foot Locker Scholarship

    To apply the student must be entering college in the fall of 2019, along with be involved in sports in high school or the community in addition to a 3.0 GPA. The award for the students will be $20,000, and 20 will be awarded.

    CGTrader Scholarship

    Is for full time students, who write and submit an essay based on the prompt on  “Our life on a spaceship: the future of mankind.” Three awards of $2,000 will be awarded to the winning essays.

    FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights in Education)

    An essay contest for high school juniors and seniors, willing to submit an essay of 800-1000 words on the prompt provided, about freedom of speech, on the website. Prizes of up to $10,000 will be available for students to win with submission of a winning essay. All essays must be submitted on the website by December 31,2018, with the award being announced January 31, 2019.

    SP Scholarship

    The ScholarshipPoints program was created in 2006 to help students win scholarships without the hassle of filling out paper applications and writing dozens of essays. is owned and operated by Edvisors, a company dedicated to helping students plan and pay for college. To date, Edvisors has given away more than $650,000 through the ScholarshipPoints program.

    GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

    The student applicant, must demonstrate attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship. The student must have at least a 3.0 GPA, be a United States Citizen attending High School in the United States, and attending a four year university for the upcoming year work towards an accredited degree. Semi- Finalists will be asked for a letter of recommendation and will be interviewed. Winners will be awarded up to $40,000, and the award is renewable for up to three years.     Western New York Safety Conference, INC.

    Scholarships of $1500 will be awarded to high school seniors attending college in the fall of 2019. Applicants must complete the application and type an essay based on the prompt on the application. The applicant must also have their transcript sent and a letter of recommendation. Financial need will be considered when awarding the scholarships.

    Lawrence Technologies University: Scholarship Competition

    This is an opportunity for students who have applied to attend Lawrence Tech for  the Fall 2019 semester. You need to write a 500 word essay on a person whose innovations have inspired you. THe best of the essays will have to attend one of 3 competition days (Feb 23, Mar 1, or Mar 8.) This can be in addition to any other scholarship that the students receive.

    Character Council of WNY Scholarship and Grant Committee

    Scholarships of $1000 will be awarded to high school seniors, who show character excellence,  who are attending college or trade school in the fall following their high school graduation. Scholarships are awarded to deserving high-school seniors on the basis of character essay and supporting information from relatives, teachers or friends. Grants are awarded to schools on the basis of character programs which will be implemented within their schools or organizations. Scholarships and grants are presented at a May dinner.

    WACE Scholarship Partner Institutions

    This is an opportunity for students entering college in the 2019- 2020 school year, to be given the option for a co-operative education, where schooling and internships are used for the students to gain knowledge about the fields that they want to pursue. To apply for this opportunity, students must meet the academic requirements, and write an essay.

    Participating Schools: Clarkson University, Drexel University, Johnson and Wales University, Merrimack College, RIT, SUNY Oswego, The University of Toledo, University of Cincinnati, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Miami Dade College, Oregon Tech, SUNY Albany, International Institutions also available.

    DEADLINE: February 15, 2019  (deadlines are different at some schools)

    American Association of University Women (AAUW) Buffalo Branch

    This is an opportunity for any senior girl attending high school in Erie or Niagara County, and is attending an accredited college (2 or 4 year) full time next school year. The applicant must be in good standing at school (3.5 or 95) and have two letters of recommendation upon submission of the application and transcripts. The applicant may be selected for an interview, before potentially being awarded prize of up to $10,000.
