    STEP 1:

    Applying for a FSA ID

    Request a Federal Student Aid ID to apply for federal student aid. This should be one of your first steps. Instructions are available at https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch   

     

    STEP 2:

    The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

    Federal Student Aid, a part of the U.S. Department of Education, is the largest provider of student financial aid in the nation. These programs provide grants, loans, and work-study funds to students attending college or career school.  

    Completing the FAFSA is a necessary step for all families with children attending college.  The FAFSA will open up in OCTOBER and families will use their previous year’s taxes. Get more information on the process at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid
