Online Registration
Online registration is a two-step process:
-
Step 1 - eSchool Online Registration (system registration)
-
Visit the following website - https://parentportal.wnyric.org/sloancsd
-
Click the "Online Registration" button near the bottom to get started.
-
If you have a child who already attends one of our schools, you should first login to your Parent Portal account.
-
Once logged in, you will find a "Register New Student" button on the right side of the page.
-
This will pre-populate information in the application that is already in our system, and make the online form much easier to complete.
-
-
You will need to complete all five sections before being able to submit the step 1 application.
-
Complete the online forms as completely as possible. Fields marked with a red asterisk are required.
-
Multiple students can be registered on a single application as long as they all live in the same household. Enter all students in the “Student Information” section.
-
-
Step 2 - Operoo (additional forms and submission of required documents)
-
Once your Step 1 application is processed (generally within 24 hours), an email from a program named "Operoo" will be sent to the email address provided in the Step 1 application.
-
If you do not receive an email within 24 hours, please check your SPAM folder before contacting the Operoo Manager, (Peter Fuchs: pfuchs@cheektowagasloan.org).
-
-
The welcome email you receive from Operoo will contain your initial account credentials.
-
You must complete all assigned Operoo forms and upload all required documentation before your registration application will be sent for final review.
-
In-Person Registration Support

Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) Information
The Cheektowaga-Sloan Union Free School District is proud to offer its Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program Full Day starting in the 2025-26 school year.
Cheektowaga-Sloan’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) is a New York State-funded Program. It runs 5 days a week, 6 hours per day, and follows the calendar for the Cheektowaga-Sloan School District. There will also be a half-day option through our Community-Based Organization (CBO) First Friends Daycare. There is no cost to families who participate; however, parents are responsible for their child’s transportation.
Our quality UPK Program utilizes research-based, age-appropriate practices aligned with the State’s Pre-Kindergarten Standards. Children will acquire pre-reading skills, a richer vocabulary, and strong basic math skills. As they explore the world away from home, they will begin to develop a sense of independence in a safe and secure environment where they will play, listen, talk, share, discover, explore, and experiment. They will also grow socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually, which will better prepare them for kindergarten.
Based on anticipated state funding, the District is accepting registration for the 2025-2026 UPK Program.

CPSE Registration Information
Students with special needs who are between the ages of 3 and 5 can register with their local school district to apply for special education services through the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE). Children with special needs are most successful when they receive services at a young age with early intervention.
Private / Parochial / Charter School Registration Information
All students residing within our school district boundaries need to be registered with the district, whether they attend one of our public schools or are placed in a school of their choice.
Transportation for Private/Parochial/Charter School
- Bus transportation to and from the private/parochial/charter school is available from the Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD.
- A transportation request (along with three proofs of residency) is required in order to receive this service.
- Transportation requests must be renewed each school year.
- Existing private/parochial/charter students:
- There is a deadline of April 1st to submit a new transportation form for the next school year.
- Failure to submit your transportation form and residency proofs on time will result in no bus service to and from the private/parochial/charter school.
- New private/parochial/charter students:
- Complete your transportation request at the time of registration.
- Your request will be honored at any point in the year because you are registering as a new student at that school.
- The April 1st deadline does not apply for your first year at a private/parochial/charter school.

Transferring Schools
Transferring is the process of un-enrolling from one school and enrolling in a different one. This differs from regular academic progression (moving to the next school within a school district). Going from second grade at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School to third grade at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School is a part of the regular academic progression. It does not require a family to take any action.
When a family who lives within the Cheektowaga-Sloan Union Free School District’s boarders decides that their student will be attending a new school that is not a part of the regular academic progression, they will need to complete a "Resident Student Transfer Request Form". A copy of this form can be found below.
Moving to a New Address
Are you going to be moving or have you moved to a new address? If so, you will need to update us with your new address. We ask that you complete the form attached below, called "Change of Information/Address Form." The form can be returned to us in one of the following ways:
- Drop off the completed form and two residency proofs to our District Office, located at 166 Halstead Avenue.
- Complete and email the form back to us, along with copies of two residency proofs, to the following address: pfuchs@cheektowagasloan.org
Thank you very much for taking the time to update your information as it changes.
